Think about speed. Are you looking to charge your car quickly in a few hours? If so- consider a level 2 charger.
Assess your electrical. Work with us to assess your electrical panel to ensure we know what charger you can support. In some cases, we may need to upgrade your electrical panel.
Pick your tech level. Think about features of an EV charger that are important to you. If you want scheduled charging and an app to track usage, narrow your search to ‘smart EV chargers’.
Your EV Vehicle. Once you know which EV Charger is best for you, you may need to also consider what adapters are required.
Note that swapping your adapter is cheap and simple so don’t focus too much on this!

The average daily driver requires level 2 charging.
level 2 charging allows you to charge overnight and get your car to a full charge to be ready for the day.

Level 1
Speed (kms added per hour): 5-8 kms miles per hour.
Power source: 120V wall outlet
Best for: Hybrids and individuals who do not drive much and have patience.
Level 2
Speed (kilometers added per hour): 20-100 kms per hour
Power source: 240V outlet
Best for: best for a daily driver and overnight charging
Level 3
Speed (miles added per hour): 160 kms per hour
Power source: commercial only
Best for: expedited charging and roadtrips. Not suitable for home use.

A level 2 charger cannot be installed in Ontario without a licensed electrician.
A level 1 charger does not always require a licensed electrician - specifically if the EV Charger location has a suitable outlet in a recently built home. If the outlet is not properly placed, the outlet is older or an extension cord is required, you may want to consider having an electrician do an assessment.

Absolutely. EV charging at home is much cheaper than gas and public charging.

The vast majority of chargers are compatible with all vehicles. However, depending on your car, you may need a specific adapter (NACS, J1772).
adapters can be changed/swapped out as you upgrade your vehicle and or need to support multiple vehicles.
